Remembering William Newman - Our Fallen Soldier

November 11th was Veteran's Day - the day to remember all those who have served our country in the military. Thank you for your service, sacrifice and commitment.

Our son, William Newman, was killed in Iraq on June 7,2007 while disarming a roadside bomb in order to save the lives of others.

We miss you and love you!

 

A Girlfriend's Baseball Weekend - A Must for Every Woman!

Watching the World Series especially if your team is the one playing in it makes October and November a very special time of year. As you can see, October was a good month for me as a New York Yankee's fan and November is off to a good start. Just a couple more and I can celebrate their victory!

Even more than having my team play in the World Series are the memories and experiences of sharing a baseball weekend with my best friend. Tamara and I started this tradition several years ago with our first game in Atlanta, Georgia. We went to two games, had a nice dinner in town and took in all the smells and sights of the ballpark. We cheered our teams, drank some margaritas and got some autographs and photographs.

After getting our pictures developed, we were able to re-live the experience again, laughing and reminiscing all the while. We had such a great time we decided to try to visit a ballpark each year even if our favorite team wasn't playing. We have since visited several and every time we go, we are so glad we did.

It doesn't matter if you love baseball or know nothing about the game; what's important is spending time with your friends, laughing, making memories, visiting cities you may not otherwise visit and above all having a great time.

As career focused, hard working women we need a break from time to time for a little relaxation and fun. Why not spend it at a baseball game? I guarantee you'll have fun!
